Job Scope and Preparation

Prior to commencement, Bacviet’s Superintendent team discussed the work with the vessel’s Chief Engineer to finalize procedures and confirm the availability of spare parts and special toolboxes. Skilled technicians boarded the vessel by boat service at Cam Pha anchorage, Vietnam, and a detailed work plan was prepared.

Key preparations included:

Checking all special tools, lifting gear, and measuring instruments.
Reviewing manufacturer’s manuals and safety guidelines.
Preparing spare parts including gaskets, O-rings, piston rings, and sealing materials.
Ensuring Class attendance for critical inspections.

Overhauling Procedure – MAN B&W 5S60MC-C

Re-Assembly – with new gaskets and proper torque tightening.
Performance Test – conducted during sea trials, ensuring stable operation and proper CMS parameters.
