Project Overview

Bacviet Shiprepair has successfully completed the replacement of the X-Band radar magnetron on board MV MARIANNE STOEGER at Cam Pha anchorage, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of the vessel’s Chief Engineer and in compliance with the radar manufacturer’s technical requirements.

Job Description – X-Band Radar Magnetron Replacement

The vessel’s navigation radar system required urgent replacement of the X-Band magnetron due to low power output and unstable transmission during operation.

Technical Process

The replacement process followed standard marine electronic service procedures:

Isolation of the radar transmitter and discharge of residual high voltage.
Removal of the old magnetron and cleaning of the waveguide and cavity area.
Installation of the new M1568BS magnetron with torque calibration to manufacturer specifications.
Power-up and adjustment of the radar system to ensure stable emission at 9.3 GHz – 9.5 GHz frequency band.
Function test for both short and long-range detection modes, verified by bridge officers.
