REPAIR CRACKS IN M/E CYLINDER HEADS

TEMPORARY REPAIR FOR 02 CYLINDERHEADS OF MAIN ENGINE HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT ON BOARD OF MV MAGNAVIA

0101 Magnavia – ordered temporary repair of cylinder head for Hyundai-Sulzer Engine type 6RTA72U during forthcoming call in HCM City on 07.03.2016

Temporary repair carries out by professional welder:

- Arrange welders comes on board at Catlai Ternimal

- To be cleaning Cylinder head on fire chamber area

- To be dye check all of the fire chamber surfaces to find/ determine the cracks.

- To be drill the hole at the end of the cracks.

- To be gouging the cracks, make the V- channel type for welding.

- To be heating the surface around welding position.

- Weding up the cracks by special electrode

- Dye check welding seam after welded

- Grinding the welding surfaces

- Dye check the surfaces after grinded

- Final check
