# Scope of Job: Full Overhauling Main Engine

# Steps to performed:

After discussed with Superintendent and Chief Engineer on board of the vessel, checking and confirmed the special tool boxes and spare parts on board for overhauling.

Skilled technicians arranged boat services to come on board of the vessel at Cam Pha anchorage of Vietnam. Meeting/ discussing with Chief Engineer for overhauling plans and procedures.

# Overhauling Main Engine Procedure for Doosan – Man B&W 5S60MC-C at Cam Pha anchorage, Vietnam has been performed as the following:

• Carefully check / read the manufacturers’ instructions booklet.
• Prepare/ checking all special tools, measuring tools and equipment, necessary chain blocks and lifting materials.
• Dismantling Cylinder head, cleaned, checking exh. valve, renew O-ring for jacket cooling. Drain out lubricating oil.
• Withdraw piston and piston rod for decarb, measure piston ring gap, renew piston rings and - installed back.
• Cleaning and measurement ID of liner
• Opening cross head bearing for Class Surveyor inspection
• Opening crank pin bearing for Class Surveyor inspection.
• Opening journal bearing for Class Surveyor inspection.
• Visual inspection, inspection measurements and the condition of all the parts to be submitted reports/ records.
• Assembly back with new gasket.
• Finally, the Main Engine performance test is carried out, during sea trials.
